If you’re walking down the street and you notice a small stone in your shoe digging into your foot what would you be inclined to do? Would you take a pain killer to numb the pain or stop, slip off your shoes and remove the stone? It’s a simple analogy but these aches and pains are signs that something isn’t quite right and it’s important that these signals are listened to. It’s my job to figure out why these signals are being sent, connect the dots between seemingly unconnected symptoms and get you back to feeling great. With complex health conditions they may have developed over years if not decades. This means I rarely see clients for “one off” consultations as I don’t feel this approach offers a realistic or meaningful approach to allow you to regain your health.
I like to say that my approach is similar to unpeeling an onion. We take one layer off at a time and make steady and sustainable progress back to wellness and vitality. If we want to chop down a tree, trimming the branches isn’t going to get us very far. Short term it might work but give it a few weeks and they branches will be back stronger than ever. To get rid of the tree for good we need to dig up the roots and address the underlying issue. Health is no different. It’s about digging, understanding what mechanisms are at play and making the most appropriate interventions to address any foundational and fundamental imbalances, be it will your immune system your digestive system or your nutrient intake. I call this root cause resolution and this means you’ll see lasting change.
